Support of Vulnerable Groups
ELINOIL tries its best to identify needs on a local level, in order to assist, to support and to improve.
For two consecutive years it provided a basic good, which is none other than heating, to the pupils of the primary education institutions of Patmos Island and to the Center for People with Special Needs "HARA".
By doing this, the company intends to actively contribute to the effort of shielding children from the impacts of the financial crisis and from missing things they need.
In 2015 and 2016, the Hellenic Petroleum Marketing Companies Association, of which ELINOIL is a member, organized a common humanitarian action in which all of its member companies participated.
In cooperation with the non-profit organization DESMOS, which aims at the responsible and effective use of private initiatives to ensure the establishment of a sustainable and solidarity-based environment for the country's vulnerable groups, it collected food and cleaning products that were donated to support associations which partner with DESMOS.
ELINOIL believes in the concept of volunteering and supports the efforts of institutions and organizations that take action, by organizing volunteering activities.
A basic supporting pillar of volunteering in ELINOIL's strategy is raising awareness of the importance of voluntary blood donation. The company holds an annual voluntary blood donation event at its headquarters in Kifissia, offering its employees who would like to donate blood the chance to do so. At the same time, the company supports the efforts made by the Xanthi Volunteer Blood Donor Association "I AGAPI", which has been promoting volunteer blood donating for our fellow humans in need for many years, and has been sponsoring the association's annual blood donation event since 2010.
In autumn 2015, in response to the drama of the refugees arriving in large numbers to the Greek islands, ELINOIL took immediate action and supported Lifeguard Hellas Save & Rescue Volunteer Team by donating the fuels required by the vehicles and waterborne transport which were used by the volunteer team to patrol the Northern Lesvos area and save lives.
